Jon Stewart might be the comedian, but Congress is the joke.

@Chava Rifa Living in a cave does not subtract from the fact you were an informant and were trained by the CIA as a deal in a proxy war against Russia in the 80s, and was also in bed with the batshit insane president of Uganda in the 70s.

Emotional responses everywhere. I bet the people who haven't commented have contacted Congress and the Senate and have made some contribution to move this though. Among many other long standing issues.

They should all have free healthcare for the rest of their lives. This shouldn't even be a discussion.

@cooper Do you care more about 9/11 fist responders dying w/o healthcare OR about whether you happen to like the messenger? FYI, Jon Stewart's *always* been on the frontlines to get the Zadroga act passed and renewed, which you'd know if you watched his show way back when, since it's one of the very few matters where he *insisted his audience got involved by calling our reps in Congress etc* and he *succeeded!* 3000 people died on 9/11, but 4000 and counting died since. Your comment suggests you're no...

@W TF? Mitch McConnell owes *his life* to the brave passengers on UA93 on 9/11, which was supposed to crash on Capitol Hill & to the 1st responders who made sure everyone got evacuated safely w/o panic. Do you think anyone paused to ask _who's a liberal and who's a conservative?_ NO! That day & that year, everybody was *an American!* A concept imbeciles like you cannot grasp! 9/11 wasn't an attack on NYC, but on the United States, which is why art 5 of NATO was invoked DUH. - A proud New York...

@Reel Fishing The is the genius of the daily show with John Steward as they took serious issue and added humor to make them entertaining to get people interested. But if you watch him in other show like Bill Maher, or when talking about 9/11 first responder he gets very serious.

  • Reel Fishing

Right! I didnt know Jon Stewart had a serious side. Hands down the best speech I have heard in a long long time.

First responders: Extraordinary people who did what they did because they care about people MORE than their job. and Politicians: People who are afraid to do anything because they care more about their job than our people.

Nobody cares on both sides of the spectrum. It's about money, money, money. Government is a joke and it always will be. Instead of blaming each other for the problems "Hey Republicans, you suck because you're greedy!" or "Hey Democrats, you're only benefiting a certain amount of people and not the whole entirety to benefit your agenda!"Instead of blaming each other for the problems, how about you stop dividing the country and come together to solve the problems that would benefit ...
