Wade.The case of Roe v. Wade is a frequently a stand-in when we talk about abortion rights, and Trump would be fulfilling a campaign promise by appointed judges that could, in theory, overturn the decision.But although the landmark 1973 ruling made abortion legal — in fact, a guaranteed constitutional right governed under the right to privacy — states have limited powers to regulate the practice. And they have been given more and more authority to add restrictions and regulations that limit that right to a smaller number of individuals.There are 1,193 state-level restrictions on abortion, and for some women, it has functionally made abortion inaccessible. And if the Court does overturn Roe v. Wade, some states already have laws that would automatically ban some or all abortion. 11 months agoTo a lot of the pro-life people here, I assume you lot are very supportive of welfare programs that will support the single mother and her child as well then? Child support isn't always a given so you've got to provide a program to help them, especially until the child is 18. If abortion becomes illegal, those programs should definitely be expanded to deal with the influx.

3 months agoSimple, No sex, no child, no burden. If the government can afford child support to those who can't live a economically livable life then let's support it but why would the left wants more immigrants from the 3rd world if child support is a very big issue?

11 months agoFirst stop attacking sex ed. Education is important so you know the responsibility and avoid making 'mistake'.Second stop attacking birth control. This can prevent unwanted pregnancy thus abortion in the first place.Third stop lying to the patient. Don't act and dress up like you're an expert when you're not. We literally have people going around lying to people about abortion and hurting the mother because they're given false information.I think abortion should be allowed under strict circumstance...

11 months agoOptimisticPessimist - If Scotland can overturn their 40 year ban on abortions, I’m sure we can keep them legal. Heck, even with the ban women could get their abortions there. The pill would fly over on a drone and the women would take the pill in international waters on a boat. Women would take a train or flight to England where it is legal. 11 months agoWe need more sex education. As a pro lifer, we do need more than abstinence only sex Ed. Tell them how to protect themselves explicitly. Hopefully we can agree on this at least

11 months agoRodriric sex ed should start at home first of all and secondly all the sex ed in the world wouldn’t stop unwanted pregnancies only abstinence well prevent pregnancy unless of course you’re the second coming of Christ

11 months agoMr Laughs the earliest a baby has ever been born is right at the end of the second trimester, so no, for the majority of the second trimester, the fetus cannot survive. As well, majority of fetuses born that early do not survive, and it is only in a few exceptional cases when babies born that premature are actually viable.
