  • Cyprus is an island divided. Cut into North and South, with a border running through the center of its capital, Nicosia, this Mediterranean island has been a point of contention between Greeks and Turks since Turkey invaded the north in 1974 and declared it a Turkish territory.

    But in the midst of a devastating economic crisis in Turkey, Cypriots on both sides of the border are calling for unification.
