Being a Pakistani, I consider that Sachin Tendulkar is best ever Batsman of 150 years history of cricket. I disagree with the statement of sir Don Bradman that Tendulkar plays like him, I think Don Bradman played like Sachin. I have seen the videos of Don Bradman's batting and great Tendulkar was far better than him. Don Bradman faced very ordinary bowlers but Tendulkar faced the highest ranked bowlers of the history of cricket. He faced Waseem, Waqar, Shoaib, Bret Lee, Alen Donald, Bishop, Ambrose, Walsh and Mc Grath. In the fields of spin he showed his class against Suqlain Mushtaq, Mushtaq Ahmad, Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne. He scored centuries against these Giants. He showed his class in fast and bouncy pitches against bowling like rockets.

It was 15th century of Sachin and see his confidence..woh..People should refrain comparing Kohli with Sachin...let Kohli do excel...Sachin is sachin...most lovable and respected cricketer of the world.

those were the days .... !!! when sachin alone used to fight.. and rest of the team either not there yet in terms of quality or those who were failed miserably  (later found to be involved in outrageous fixing scandal )  .. Amongst all those, this man kept fighting a lone battle for the country.. I still wonder how different would the results there would have been , had dirty money not intervened...

Half the joy in Sachin's batting this inning comes from awesome commentary by the late and great Tony Greig.

people who say tendulkar doesnot finish the game must watch this .. he has been the victim of some impossible collapses and riddiculus umpiring.. besides more often than not being an opener he sets up an platform plays through the whole innings and finishes the game.. if he does all three.. why do u require finishers..  nobody expects ganguly to finish the game or sehwag to finish the game.. but they too are openers.. and if they finish the game its a bonus.. now if the other players hatch eggs when tendulkar gets a 100 thats their problem but that is the reason i like the present indian team .. they never relied on tendulkar only..

To whosoever compares today's era of cricket to the 90s and early 2000s must look at the quality of bowling in this match. The 70s , 80s and the 90s had some great fast bowlers with equally great batsmen. The runs were difficult to come by and that's why the word great wasn't used so much during those times. It was reserved for the Best.
No disrespect to anyone, you play with what you're given. But Tendulkar and Lara were in a different era altogether and by the same token so were Gavaskar and Sir I.V.A Richards.
But to choose one it will always be Sachin. We grew up with his batting.his centuries were emotions. His dismissal was our heartbreak. I grew up in the 90s so I know why people call him "God" because of some of the knocks he's played against the best attacks when anyone else would have given up and this innings and the famed "Desert Storm" are examples of that and not to forget that classic knock against Pakistan in Chennai '99 against the likes of Akram, Waqar and Saqlain.
To the man who's been converting Atheists into believers. Sachin! :)
